“Christmas at The Crescent” Week Surrounds You

Every year, the historic 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa plans out of a week full of fun and holiday experiences during their “Christmas at The Christmas”, December 7-13.  This year is wonderfully exceptional.

On that Saturday, you arrive in this Ozark village called Eureka Springs in time to take the Preservation Society’s “Christmas Tour of Homes”.  That evening you’ll stumble across the hotel’s Christmas Forest Tree Lighting Ceremony where 30 trees, each decorated by local charity, come alive illuminating this spa resorts mountaintop acreage.

Sunday morning you might opt to unwind with a little Yoga Flow prior to your visit to the Crystal Dining Room for Santa’s Brunch.  This feast, hosted by Santa himself, welcomes you to sit in his lap for a photo op between trips to the scrumptious holiday buffet.  Afterwards, hear the true story behind the hotel’s recent archeological dig unfold during the “Proof of Our Success” presentation.  Eureka Springs’ downtown shops are ready for Christmas shopping, too and are only a hotel shuttle van ride away.

The holiday weekends in Eureka are full, but this week at the Crescent sees the list of experiential activities full and fun like holiday concerts at lunchtime from area schools, wine tastings, craft beer tastings, Christmas craft classes, hatchet throwing, walking tours, and such.  Relive history on Thursday when you are invited learn how to create a baked holiday treat from the old Crescent girls’ college cookbook.   Remember, the hotel shuttle remains on-ready to take you to and fro downtown for even more shopping each and every day.

Weekday evenings are event-full as well.  Hotel mysteries are told in the fireplace-lit lobby on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Added on Wednesday is the “Christmas Community Dinner”, served family-style- in the Crystal Dining Room.  And you become part of a “live studio audience” as the Five & Dime Players take the stage in the Conservatory for the presentation of their annual holiday radio show on Thursday and Friday nights.

It comes down to this, Eureka Springs is one great Christmas getaway and this Historic Hotel of America, clothed in brilliant holiday decorations, is its festive epicenter.  If you come for the weekend or a few days during the week, you will not be disappointed during “Christmas at The Crescent”.

Continue the holiday spirit thru December with the Eureka Springs Christmas Festival.
