My husband, Matt, and I have visited the Crescent 6 times in the past year. It all began with an impromptu visit last December (2006). We decided shortly thereafter to get married there on Feb. 3, 2007. We went up with four other couples (all close friends) and stayed in the Governor's Suite and rented all of the other rooms on the first floor. Many spooky things happened for us that weekend! A toilet flushed for one of our friends in the men's restroom adjacent to Doc Baker's lounge on the fourth floor. The entrance in the hallway of the Governor's Suite to the "pink" bedroom opened in the middle of the night after being dead-bolted. All of the guest rooms down the hallway across from the Governor's Suite had the doors open approx. 12 inches after everyone in the wedding party had gone to dinner. What a surprise to round the corner and see ALL of the doors open! There have been many other "minor" experiences, but these gave us the best jolt. We will be returning in a couple of weeks and staying in the South Penthouse Suite. We can't wait to check it out. We would recommend the Crescent to anyone and everyone. The staff is exceptionally friendly and professional. We love Chuck at the front desk, and one cannot say enough about Boyd! This wonderfully, historic "castle" gives you an instant sense of belonging and we, too, have deemed it "our place".

My husband and I just had the pleasure of staying at the Crescent for the first time (on 1/4/08) and enjoyed every minute of it! We stayed in room 230 where I got a good picture of an orb in motion. I also took the ghost tour (for the second time) and got another shot of an orb in motion, this time a red one! Right outside Michael's room (#218) I got what appears to be an orb within an orb, or maybe just one in front of the other. And, in a mirror on the first landing of the staircase is what appears to be a face in shadow. Very interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality your staff provided, the "homey" feel of the Crescent, and we'll definately be back! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My family and I vacationed at the hotel October 20 through the 26Th 2007. The hotel is BEAUTIFUL and the service impeccable! From the moment we arrived till the time we left everyone was GREAT. My son had an incident when we were on the ghost tour while the tour guide was talking with him about staying in Michael's room (218) and he fainted straight away. We ended up in the ER and did you know both the tour guide (Karen) and the hotel desk personnel (Ric) both stopped by the ER to check up on him. We couldn't believe how nice everyone was... John the night auditor was ready for us when we returned and made sure that my son had water and some food. I will recommend this hotel to everyone and the experience was great... yes, I think someone was playing with my feet the last night we were there but my husband doesn't believer me... Thanks again for the experience. I'm hoping when Ethan grows up he will share the experience with his children.

Our stay was great! Even though we only had two days to spend at the Crescent, we were very taken by the unique ambiance of the hotel and its sense of history. We were also very taken with Eureka Springs. Our goal is to visit as many of the 100 historical US hotels as we can. We’re glad to have had the opportunity to add the Crescent to our resume of impressive lodgings. Thanks for rescuing the Crescent!

My husband and I made a spur of the moment decision to stay at the Crescent before our weekend vacation to Branson. When we arrived, I asked if there were any rooms available, and the lady gave me 419. Little did I know the adventure had begun early! The room was amazing, and so comfortable. We decided to do the ghost tour that night, but unfortunately my little 1 year old girl was acting extremely hyper so I had to retreat with her and go back to the room while my husband continued on. Everything went well, until sometime after 10, when the water in the tub turned on by itself. I ran out the door into some people coming back from the ghost tour, and told these complete strangers what happened. Tons of people came in and started taking pictures...showing me ORBS all over the room. I don't think I have ever had so many goose bumps in my life. Now I know what it feels like to be on the other side of telling a ghost story to a skeptic...nobody believes me!!! Either way, it was a beautiful place, the food was incredible, and the employees were very nice. Now I know what to get my relatives for Christmas...(weekend packages at your hotel!) Thank you!

My husband & I stayed at your beautiful hotel on the weekend of June 29, 2007. This place is amazing, picturesque & peaceful. We felt as though we had stepped back in time. I really loved the gardens & the church. We did capture several orbs & 2 very unusual photos. I will send them in to the ghost tour people. They sure know the history of the grand hotel. The only experience we had was this. My husband & I were out on the bar terrace. He asked, I wonder how many people have jumped or been thrown off of this balcony? Just after he said that, one of the stacked chairs fell off of the table. We were the only ones out there! I was not at all scared of the hotel. We had a very enjoyable time & will return again.

Your beautiful hotel is fascinating! I am struck by the eerie similarity between the Crescent and the Stanley( true home of the "Shining"!! in Estes Park, Colorado and an old hotel we stay at in the old mining town of Georgetown, Colorado. The staff was very helpful and it had that haunted, strange, unexpected feeling so noticeable in the Colorado mountain towns we are so familiar with. We will definately return. Eureka Springs is like a midwestern Colorado mountain town to a remarkable degree!

My wife, son and I ended up at The Crescent after an aborted camping trip last week due to foul weather. From the moment we arrived we were treated as special guests. From Josh at the front door, to the desk staff, and food servers were excellent and attentive. The view from our window was memorable, the food top shelf (especially the breakfast), the grounds beautiful and our stay a very welcome respite from the rainy, windy weather we had been in while camping. Thanks to all the staff for the exceptional service.

I visited the Crescent Hotel aproximately 9 yrs ago with my parents and 3 yr. old niece. I am a believer in the paranormal, but I had no idea at the time that the hotel was haunted. We originally came to Eureka Springs to see the Passion Play, but we also toured the town via the trolley. One of the stops was your hotel. The hotel is more fantastic than I imagined. We took the elevator to, I believe, the 3 rd floor and went out onto the balcony to see the countryside and the statue of Christ of the Ozarks. After spending several minutes there we decided we had better try to catch the next trolley to continue our tour. This time we decided to take the stairs. I descended the staircase first, and as I came to second floor landing I decided to take a look around. As I rounded the end of the stairs I noticed a very long hallway to my left and a very short hallway to my right. The hallway to my right had about 3 or 4 rooms as well as I can remember. But there was a room directly in front of me which seemed to have a "threating" presence standing in front of or standing in the doorway to this room. I felt the proverbial "hair on the back of my neck" stand on end. I could not see anything with my physical eyes, but I know for a fact I was "sensing" something there and I quickly backed away. I don't remember the room number of that room, but the next time I come back to Eureka I plan to find out.

My fiancée, Chris, and I stayed at the Crescent in October of 2006 in room 419. Although we were hoping to experience 'something' we weren't really sure if we would or not. When we first arrived in our room, I went to open the curtains to look out and they closed immediately. I tried at least 5 more times, each time the curtains closed back. I assumed it was just the tract they were on and gave up and opened the other window curtains. Chris tried as well after the other window opened just fine with the same results. We thought nothing more of it and left to go have lunch. When we returned to our room, of course, the curtains we wide open. We laughed it off until we took the ghost tour and discovered that Theodora 'lived' in room 419 and we spoke to the sensitive that was our guide that night. He suggested that Theodora was merely making her presence known..basically saying hi. After watching the TAPS episode, I feel quite privileged that she allowed us to stay and did not pack our belongings and set them by the door for us!! We took several pictures while there and the orb activity was so incredible throughout the hotel. My favorite picture is one of me sitting in the beautiful chair by the door to our room and there is an orb about 12 inches from my face. I feel like I came face to face with a ghost and didn't even have a clue!!! We will be returning in February to stay again and I can't wait!!! We've deemed The Crescent Hotel "our place" and look forward to many more visits (and many more visitors!!!) Thank you to the staff at The Crescent for a wonderful weekend and thank you Theodora for an incredible stay!!! Thank you,

Me and my husband stayed at the Crescent Hotel the week of October 8, 2006 in room 202 for our honeymoon. It was a wonderful experience and we both learned a lot about the hotel. We both had massages and loved it. We both knew the history behind the hotel with it’s hauntings and wanted to find out what it was about. We took the ghost tour the first night we were there and found it very fascinating. I didn’t know if our room was known for prodominate hauntings or not, but it was mentioned on the ghost tour as being an escape route for Dr. Baker. We didn’t receive anything out of the ordinary on any of the pictures taken on the tour or of the hotel at all, however, I personally experienced something of my own on our last night at the hotel. I first felt in the middle of the night my ankle being grabbed while I was half asleep, but just didn’t think anything of it. I just thought it was part of my dream. Then it happened again, only a longer period of time, but I just seemed to be frozen and couldn’t move my leg. About an hour or so later I woke up to what felt like a hand on the back of my shoulder. The covers were off enough for my shoulders to be exposed and I felt pressure and warmth on my shoulder. After only a second I gasped and I could feel the pressure lift off slowly. I wasn’t quite for sure if it was a “hand” or something else, but the size felt like a hand. I didn’t physically see anything, but definatly felt something. My husband kept telling me that “this is a friendly place” and that everything was ok to make me feel better. Shortly after, we checked out early that morning.

My sister and I stayed at the Crescent spring of 2006. We’ve stayed there several times but never took pictures in the hotel. This trip we took a number of pictures in the hotel. Guess what? Every picture turned out fine, except for the picture I took of my sister standing in front of room 218. The flash didn’t go off. All the other pictures the flash worked and the pictures turned out fine (and I have a new digital camera.) I thought it was strange when I looked at the picture on my camera. Only the picture of my sister standing in front of room 218 was dark. You could see the room number and barely make out my sister on the picture.

We recently visited Eureka Springs since we can get there so fast living in Hollister,Mo. We stayed in room 218. I had stayed there many times before but this was the first time Christene had gotten a chance to stay the night. We bought a package deal which is the best way to go so you can customize your stay. It was also very affordable. All in all our stay was perfect. I have a laptop that I happened to bring with me so I hooked up the webcam to monitor anything unusual while we were there and away for the day. When I looked at the tape when I got home nothing but black showed up. I did hear something that distorted the sound. It's hard to explain. The most incredible and credible evidence we left with was our camera. We got it developed and all the pictures were great. One picture seemed to stand out though amongst the others. Well, the orbs in the picture seem to engulf the crescent sculpture at the entranceway. There has to be 30-40 of them. No other pictures came out like that. The orb picture was taken at night in front of the building right after the ghost tour we had attended. That definitely made our day when we saw that. If your are going to Eureka Springs then you have to visit the Crescent Hotel and be sure to bring your camera.

We just happened to be staying at Pond Mountain the weekend of the Food & Wine Festival and quickly made reservations for the wine dinner at the Crescent Hotel on Friday, November 11, 2005. We had no clue what was on the menu. It was fabulous! The pairings were excellent. The price - well worth it! This was the best wine dinner we have ever attended. Congrats to the chef, maitre d, wine steward, and waiters. Job well done! We hope this event will be scheduled for the same weekend in November 2006 because we will be back!

We had our wedding at the hotel in April, 2005. We could not have been happier with your hotel. Everyone was so accomodating and friendly. We have never received that kind of welcoming feeling at any other hotel that we have ever stayed at. The staff went above and beyond any expectations. Our wedding was everything that we had hoped that it would be at the hotel. The gardens are just beautiful. Everyone at the hotel made our stay the most enjoyable time of our trip. We will definately return and our family and friends are now talking of making the trip to the hotel and the beautiful town of Eureka Springs. We want to thank everyone at the hotel for making our wedding something we will never forget.

We had a wonderful stay at the Crescent, where our daughter's wedding reception was held on Saturday evening. Misty did a super job, as did the catering and dining room staff. The spa/bridal salon people were also great and ensured that we had everything we needed. The balcony room was great and gave us more space to enjoy friends. We look forward to having a family get together at the Crescent as soon as possible.

We enjoyed our stay with ya'll. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. We brought our 10 year old grandson, Caleb. He loved meeting Shadow, who was at our door on Tuesday morning. When we opened the door, we welcomed her in for a drink of water in the tub. I was missing my Kitty, Jenny Mae, and enjoyed Shadow's visit. Caleb wanted to look for Frisco and we met her, too. The grounds are beautiful and I have told everyone about the Crescent Hotel. Thank you again.

We had a wonderful time at your hotel. Nothing can compare to that much history. We went on the ghost tour, which was great also. I think a very nice touch is the cats. Shadow came for a visit in our room. That was our first trip where when we checked into our room, we didn't leave again until the next day. There was plenty to do right there, which was very nice. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great trip.

We visited Eureka Springs just this week. We arrived on Sunday and left on Tuesday. We didn't get to stay nearly long enough as I would have loved to. We hope to come back someday soon. We went on the ghost tour of The Crescent Hotel. We didn't personally experience anything but have alot of Orbs in my husbands photos. None in mine and I only hope to think it might be, because i am a big believer in ghosts and the afterlife...whereas before my husband didn't really seem to be. So I guess they showed up for him and not me. I don't know...others had the orbs in their pictures as well. Thanks to the host of the Ghost Tour. I think he was very informative and pleasant.

I have stayed at the magnificent Crescent Hotel many times, and when visiting the Ozarks I will stay no place else. I adore the ambiance and history that surrounds the grand hotel. When I was 14 years old I met a girl whose father drove a tour bus. She came to see me at the hotel the next day and gave me the grand tour - ghost stories and all. This was of course way before the hotel had the ghost tours. I was and still am fascinated. As badly as I wanted to I did not see anything out of the ordinary. However, my mother heard a knocking at the door at about 2:30 in the morning that woke her up. When she went to check it out there was no body there but once the door shut it immediatly started again. Neither my father or I heard anything at all. My last trip to the Crescent was at least 12 years ago and next summer I plan to take my husband and two girls to experience the wonderful hotel. Now I just have to figure out how to explain to my nine year old daughter that the place is haunted without freaking her out. Can't wait to be back.

My husband, our two sons, myself, my mom and dad, two sisters and two nieces stayed at your hotel on June 20th. My sister, her two daughters, and my other sister stayed in room 205. They had taken the lamp shade off the lamp so they could see better while they were eating and set it on top of the T.V. About 10 minutes later they came running out of the room telling us that the shade had "jumped" up and spun around and then fell on the floor. Then that night they said that the phone started ringing about every 30 minutes and nobody was on the line when they answered. My husband, our two boys and I stayed in room 210. Our toilet would not stop running so my husband took the back off the toilet and saw that the chain was off. He put the chain back on and the toilet was fine for about an hour and then it started running again. He took the back off again to find that the chain was off again so this time he twisted the end on so that it wouldn't slip off anymore. We then went to bed and the next morning when we woke up the toilet was running, he looked in the back of the toilet to find that the chain had been twisted back the other way and it was off. We decided that we'd just leave it alone since someone wanted that chain off so bad. My Mom and Dad stayed in 209. Everyone except for my Mom and Dad went down to walk in the garden, they stayed in their room. When we got outside we looked up at my Mom and Dad's window and saw them looking down at us so we started waving at them. We then walked all around the motel which was beautiful. We all then went back up to my Mom and Dad's room to tell them good night and to ask them if they had seen us waving. They told us that they were never looking out the window and we thought they were just trying to play a trick on us until we looked at their window and saw that it was way too tall for them to have been looking out.

My husband & I were married in Eureka, so one year for our anniversary we returned & stayed in the North Penthouse of the Crescent. It was an awesum room! The veiw from the bedroom is remarkable! One day, while my husband was playing golf, I treated myself to a message at the spa, & a dip in the pool. When I returned to my room, I began trying to get ready for dinner plans we had made, but my appliances (hair dryer/curling iron) kept shutting off. I called down to the concierge, & no other rooms in the hotel were experiencing any kind of loss of power. When maintenance came to check it out, evreything was working properly. I do not know what happened, & I do not think I want to know. I have returned many times since, but refuse to be left alone at any time.

I just wanted to send you a quick note thanking your ghost tours for being one of the highlights of our trip. My 14 year old daughter and I attended your tours the last week in May of this year. We are from Iowa and stayed in your beautiful state for a week. The rest of our family declined to attend the ghost tours because they do not believe in "such things." After spending some time in Eureka's beautiful hotel, I will tell you that I am a believer. Because it happened to me.

We have always been fascinated by the paranormal and we came to the tours with an open mind, not expecting anything out of the ordinary, yet welcoming anything that might cross our paths. Secretly hoping we would have something exciting to bring back home with us, as in a story, but just as content by soaking up the beautiful scenery of the hotel and the wonderful people of Arkansas.

We just returned home late last Sunday, and therefore haven't had a chance to get our photographs developed yet... however, on our digital cameras you can see several splashes of light that were not visible to the eye when the pictures were taken. These splashes occur on the 2nd and 3rd floors only. I'm no photography expert, therefore there could very well be a valid explanation due to the flash of the digital camera or something else that scientifically contributed to the lights we see.

My daughter and I also wanted to share with you this. At the very beginning of the tour, when we were all gathered around the ghost tour office door, you were sharing much education with us regarding our upcoming evening. If one were looking at your office door face on, we were standing at the furthest left one could stand and still hear your presentation. Behind us was the small set of steps that is in front of the former asylum. The evening weather was very warm and beautiful... no storms, and we remember dressing in sleeveless blouses to accomodate the warm weather.

Long story short, as we were standing there, my daughter and I kept feeling a freezing sensation on our arms. We were standing shoulder to shoulder and she constantly felt the ice on her right arm ONLY and at the same time I felt it on my left ONLY. It did not hurt, however it was very much an attention getter. I would compare it to leaving the warmth of your home and running outside in below freezing weather in only a sleeveless shirt. The cold would come and my daughter and I would look at each other in puzzlement and then the cold would leave as quickly as it came. Then the cold would come moments later, stay a bit and pass. This happened about 4 times. There was no breeze and as I looked around, everyone else seemed comfortable and no one else was noticing the freeze. I didn't want people to think we'd lost it or were making up stories, so that early on we kept it to ourselves. It was only after these cold sensations were felt that you educated us about someone taking the photograph of a being, sitting on the steps, in the same direction of where our cold came from. Then you explained to us that we might feel something, or smell, or hear, or see something and that it was alright and not to be scared.

I don't know what it was... but I guarantee you, something was there. It was as if something were toying with us... and getting a kick out of my daughter and myself whispering back and forth to each other... "did you feel that? what is that?" It was very close to "Michael's" room and I'm leaving it all to his playful spirit that he was flirting with two ladies in sleeveless blouses who kept quietly asking him "what is that?" He was a tease and if it's our attention he wanted, he sure got it.

Michael, may you someday rest in peace. And if closing, thank you again for your fantastic ghost tours and the education you gave us on the hotel and life itself. It will not be forgotten. We look forward to watching your upcoming event on the sci-fi channel and wish you the best of luck in dealing with whatever is in your home as well. Stay safe.

I HAVE STAYED AT THE CRESENT NOVEMBER 2003 AND 2004. WE STAYED IN THEADORA'S ROOM.I WENT TO TURN THE HANDLE OF THE CLOSET DOOR AND IT WAS AS BOLT LOCKED. STARTLED, I JUMPED BACK AND LAUGHED IN A NERVOUS WAY. THAT MOMENT WE HEARD THE DOOR CLICK, I TRIED THE DOOR AGAIN AND IT OPENED WITH EASE. I INSPECTED THE DOOR. AT ONE TIME IT DID HAVE A LOCK, BUT IT HAD BEEN SEALED WITH PAINT, IMPOSSIABLE TO LOCK. ON THAT DAY IT DID. INSPIRED BY OUR 2003 TRIP WE BOOKED FOR THE NEXT YEAR, AND ROOM 218. THIS ROOM IS KNOWN FOR UNEXPLAINED ACTIVITY, SO WE HAD TO HAVE IT. WE WERE DYING FOR SOMTHING TO HAPPEN AND NOTHING DID, SO WE THOUGHT. WHEN WE GOT OUR PHOTOS BACK WE HAD SEVERAL ORB PICS BUT IN 218 WE TOOK A PIC WITH A FULL FIGURE STANDING IN THE MIRROR. THE MAN IS TOTALLY SEE-THROUGH. MUCH DETAIL. ARMS, HANDS, ETC. ALSO WHAT APPEARS TO BE A LONG SLEEVE SHIRT THAT HAS BEEN ROLLED UP AT THE ELBOW. AND PERHAPS OVERALLS. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST INTERESTING "GHOST" PICTURES I HAVE EVER SEEN. SO WE SENT THEM THE THE PEOPLE WHOM RUN THE GHOST TOURS AND HOPEFULLY YOU WILL SOON SEE THEM ON THEIR SITE. IF NOT IF YOU WILL E-MAIL ME WITH A REQUEST FOR THE PICTURE I WILL GLADLY E-MAIL IT TO YOU. BY THE WAY THE HOTEL IS GREAT THE STAFF IS GREAT. WHAT A WONDERFUL PIECE OF HISTORY, AND I KNOW SOME OF THAT HISTORY HAS REMAINED BEHIND. THE GHOST TOURS ARE WONDERFUL AND THE PEOPLE CONECTED TO THEM ARE VERY NICE. THE TOUR IS WORTH EVERY PENNY. I HAVE TAKEN IT 3 TIMES AND WILL TAKE IT AGAIN WHEN WE RETURN FOR OUR NOVEMBER 2005 TRIP.

The atmosphere was like something I would expect from a 5-star, full-service hotel. If the mood strikes us to stay in Eureka Springs again, we would be VERY likely to stay at the Crescent or the Basin Park. We love the authenticity of both of the hotels and the attention to the little details, such as the concierge service and bellhop, make the stay that much more delightful. Our trip started on 12/18/04 .It was the day after my birthday and i wanted to go because i had heard it was haunted. Man was i right. We had a long drive and got there with the greeting of a wonderful city!! We checked in and my friends and i were ready to EXPLORE!! We first explored the room 218 (which was suppose to be haunted). Then we went outside and went outside to the chaple to explore. We went to the chapel and saw the amazing decoration and landmarks of the beautiful chapel. After we wnet out and cruised around the town we came back for a ghost tour. That hotel has many different stories behind it. Then we got back and went to room 218 and we heard a banging on the door and we thought it was micheal(a goust that was suppose to haunt the room) but we found out it was the people that were staying in the room. We got so scared we ran down the stairs sreaming our lungs out!! The staff at the hotel made us feel better but we ended up staying downstairs for about 3 hours (litteraly). Our mom had to get out of bed and come downstairs and get us !! I am so amazed by the beauty and I wish to come back and have some more fun!!!

My Husband and I are due to have our 4 year anniversary at the Cresent. We spent our Honey Moon night at the there in a Pent House Suite. We had such a good time then that we are coming back for more. This time we are due to stay in the room that is supossed to be haunted and I'm very excited about it cause I believe in the supernatural. I will put up a message after our stay to let every one know how the night went. He He He!!! Wish us luck!

Hey!! This hotel is so amazing..I really loved staying there.. Well it was for my step sister's birthday party..It was soo scary.. Espcially when we were all only 11 years old!! Well, i didn't want to go on the ghost tour and so i stayed with my step mom at the hotel room and the rest of my family went. But, when they came back they said that the tour guide was standing by a door and it wouldn't stop opening and closing.. So, my step sister, me, cayley and natalie all said we were going to go down to the lobby.. But, we ended up staying down there for 3 hours!! We were so scared. I swear i felt someone tug on my shirt and they said it was the dead little boy.. Then, we were walking around on the third floor by room 218 and then al of a sudden a loud boom comes from the door and the knob starts shaking.. We all ran up to our room (303) but, we noticed that natalie ran downstairs into the lobby!! The next day we went home.. We are planning on coming back!! Oh yeah we went there on 12/18/04... We would really love to go back!! It is so amazing!! Thanks!!

We stayed at the Crescent for two nights last March 2004 for our honeymoon. The first night I awoke to hear a child crying (there were no children on our floor). We later found out that many years ago a child had fallen on the stairs just outside our door and died a few days later. The morning after the second night, while in the dining room, my husband began making fun of the ghosts. As we paid for breakfast and walked out the French Doors that were locked open, one of them slammed shut, hitting him in the back. The dining room was empty that morning so we were allowed to video tape inside. When we got home and watched the video we noticed that I zoomed into the mirrors (I was unaware at the time that I spent so much time on the mirrors) and as we watched, there are ghostly aparitions -- one of a lady with a beautiful hat and another of a man with a slightly crooked smile who looks like he might be German. There is also a hooded figure who moves in and out of the mirror as I was filming. We took about 15-16 rolls of film during our stay. The pictures were all very clear and very nice. We were disappointed that there was no ghostly activity with our camera. Until we got to the last roll of film -- in the middle of that last roll were four consecutive very very blurred pictures. We loved our visit are looking forward to returning.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have enjoyed your hotel so much. The room you gave me was simply beautiful and--you'll appreciate this--I love the stairs! They creak louder than my knees!
I was frankly in a foul mood when I came over, but this place healed me--and it had nothing to do with the springs! I had a fabulous dinner in the Crystal Dining Room and a glorious soak in that big tub in my room. I listened to the church chimes the next morning while drinking my coffee and saw the white squirrel (never saw one of those before). After lunch I walked downtown and saw two deer in the woods behind the hotel. They must know what I discovered--this is the very best time of the year to be here.
I couldn't leave without saying thanks. Every single staff member I met in the hotel treated me like I was the only guest here. It's a wonderful place to be.

My family stayed at the hotel over 11/20/04 checked out on 11/21/04. The hotel is a beautiful old, historic building but we were sorely disappointed in our whole experience especially after getting the final bill. We purchased the package that included the Ghost Tour. I didnt expect or think we would see ghost but we expected alot more for $17.00. What my girls learned/experienced from the tour they could have gotten from a flyer or history book. Even a little theatrics or pretend "happening" would have been better than someone giving a history lesson. In the future, the house service people need to check linens closer. in Govenor's suite, linens were clean but stained in places. Breakfast buffet ok but overpriced as well

My sister and daughter and myself and a friend stayed at the Crescent June of 2004. We were very excited about staying there. The first night was uneventful.......but the second night was quite different. I kept hearing noises, someone walking around the room, and the curtains kept swaying back and forth. I made the comment OMG if there is anyone in here will ya just do something. Well, the covers at the end of my bed were suddenly just jerked off my feet. I was so startled I jumped up out of bed got dressed and went downstairs and stayed there till almost daylight. I do agree this hotel has many haunts.........MANY!! I had taken the ghost tour a year before....and got many orbs in the pictures. I don't know if I will stay there again......but its a distinct possibility. This hotel has got a great history.......alot of it still lives there.

OH Halloween night this year, my husband, sister, brother in law and my self were at the local pizza hut there in Eureka Springs around 10p.m. The locals were talking about ghost and I asked where they what they were talking about. They told us about the Crescent. After we finished our supper with directions we headed there to check it out. My sister and I went in and left the husbands in the car.. We asked about the tours but they were finished for the night. We asked if we could look around so we did. And after we looked around the lobby we went up on the elevator to the 4th floor... It was not spooky at all to us.. So we went back down and got the husbands to come in too..My brother in law went down stairs to the basement to use the men's room and us others went again up the elevator to the 4th floor..We looked in the lounge and took the stairs down to the 3rd floor. In a dark hallway I was checking out was a very ususual smell... I was telling them to come smell. The smell was that of an old hospial.. something I had smelled before years ago. As my Husband walked closer he was about 2 feet from me and all of the sudden something touched my face. I was not scared at all. It was almost a calm feeling. My husband and my sister told me he said for me to quit that stuff. I did not hear him say it but they later told me I was white as a sheet and my husband flew down the stairs.. He said every hair on his neck stood up on end.. My sister and I had our digital cameras with us and we started snapping pictures. My camera does not have a flash but takes very good shots in the night. My sister used hers with flash and she did not get any orbs or anything with her pictures when we got home to download them. I did get many many orbs. I do want to go back and spend a few nights and see what I can see.

This summer my husband & I went on the ghost tour, my husband was very sceptical until we went on the histric tou a few days before and we stopped at the hotel and got out to look around, my husband went down stairs where the spa is and went into the restroom where he said he saw a man standing by the sink. Then the night of the tour we all went down into what used to be the morgue and then he felt what our guide called "Raymond" touch his hair and as he was walking around snapping pictures he said something touched his leg.I feel there is something there without a doubt.

On July 17th, your hotel provided the most beautiful setting for my passage into being a married woman. We took the ghost tour 2 nights before and I made the mistake of saying, " Wouldn't it be funny if the spirits were watching us on our big day?"
Not only were they watching us, I think some of them wanted to participate. I got my hair done in the New Moon Spa, and on every picture that was taken of me, there are orbs galore. In one particular picture, there were 3 good sized ones right behind where I was sitting. My bridesmaids and I stood on the main staircase right before the ceremony to take a picture and out of 3 cameras that were aimed at us, all 3 pictures show a misty area right above and behind me. I feel that they were happy for us, at least I hope they were. Everyone kept commenting, how when they were alone, wherever in the hotel they were, they felt as if someone was watching them, but there was never anyone there that they could see. Thanks Misty , Roanna, Page, and everyone else who helped make that day wonderful for my husband and I.

Thank you for the wonderful service. My dear friend and I took a little vacation and stayed the night of July 11th in room 213. We thought it would be fun to take the ghost tour after a day of shopping. When we checked into our room we were joking about welcoming ghosts everywhere but the bathroom. Within 30 minutes of being in the room, I went to the bathroom to freshen up my make-up before going to the Crystal Dining Room for a fabulous dinner. I heard someone (I thought my friend) tap her finger nails on the door. I turned around and found my make-up bag moving side to side on the hook on the back of the door. I just thought the tapping on the door caused the movement. I answered "yes" and Jane didn't reply. I then opened the door and saw her over by her bed and then I asked her if she heard that or had knocked on the door. She of course replied "no". I guess by the look on my face, she could see my shock. I eventually told her what had happened as I fought back the tears. We eventually laughed it off and then it was her turn to freshen up. Again, she retreated from the bathroom a bit white. She said, "Tracey, your make-up bag hasn't quit moving the entire time I've been in there." We left the room, not discussing it and even kept quiet about the situation until mid-way through the ghost tour. Other than a lot of orbes in the digital camera, and Jane smelling cigar smoke in the basement, it was pretty uneventful. Oh, my make-up bag never moved again, not that night or the next day. I guess, be careful what you say and what you truely don't want to see. We're planning on returning for a "girls weekend" next year. Our husbands have no interest in joining us or the guests in the rooms. ha

I stayed at the Crescent Hotel on May 12th in Room 307. I had heard so much about the hotel and had checked out the web site; I wanted to see it for myself. I did not have any experiences in my room that night. The only strange thing that happened that evening was when I tried to take a picture of the door of Room 218, my digital LED was so dark I could barely tell if I even had the door in the frame. But the next day, when I checked back thru the photos in memory, the two pictures were clear enough to plainly see. HOWEVER, when I got home and downloaded all of the photos, I really got a surprise. I have a photo of the right side of the lobby (front desk & hall to the dining room) in broad daylight and there is a glowing white orb floating across the front of the wood column next to the hallway entrance. I also took a photo of the back of the hotel and, when you zoom in on the upstairs dormer windows, there is the image in one of what looks like a man wearing a clerical collar and white vestments. There was nothing visible in the window during the daytime when I took the photo. Now I have several friends who want to come back to the Crescent Hotel with me! It's definitely a wonderful place to stay, with very friendly staff, great food and an air of elegance about the place.

Hello! I stayed at the Crescent for the first time last summer, and will be back in April. I was skeptical of the ghost stories, but let me tell you... My friend, her brother, and I walked the grounds late at night to explore and take pics. About midnight we were walking down a hallway that I shall leave undisclosed, and noticed a light over the door and heard the distinct sound of tools being dropped on a plywood surface, along with a grumbling male voice. As we reached the door it stopped. Her brother peaked over the door, but saw nothing. We checked the knob and it was not locked. As the door was being opened, I snapped a pic. There is a large face with a bowler-type hat floating over the person opening the door. It is out of proportion to any person present at the time. I also have a pic of my friend in front of room 218 with a fairly large football-shaped orb present. We stayed in room 216, and I awoke to the sound of a person in a dress walking through the room very quickly, and the sound of the main door squeaking open and closed. I didn't realize what the noise was until we opened the door to leave for breakfast, and it was exactly the same. Also, the most amazing, was when I attempted to take a pic of room 218 with my lens under the door (large enough gap). The camera lens retracted and then shut off by itself not once, not twice, but TWELVE times! It was 1am, and I thought I was doing something wrong or pushing the wrong button, but not twelve times! The history, beauty, charm, and the uncanny events all roll into a very enchanting visit.

I went to the Crescent hotel on the 14th of February. I wasn't a guest because I had never been to Eureka Springs before, and didn't know of it's history. I, however, did spend most of my time at the Crescent. I was very facinated by it, and do plan on going back to stay. Even if I have to go by myself! I really enjoy the experience of feeling people from the other side. I did take the ghost tour to spend more time there, and to hear more of the history. I just took random shots of pictures up and down the halls, and in one picture I have over 37 orbs, in others I have big bright orbs. While going to the morgue, we were in that last leg of it, and I felt a tap on my head. (I was one of the last two in line, my boyfriend being the last). We were standing there listening to the story, and he has a bad ear, but out of that ear, he heard "excuse me" and there was no one else behind him, and I didn't hear it. I never realized what those orbs were, but, now that I've seen them, and know, I came home and looked thru my pictures here, and see so many more orbs in pictures all around here...

After the tour we had gone back to our room and played cards, watched t.v., etc. After exploring the hotel alittle with some guys we had met who were also staying in the hotel we settled down and went to bed. This was about 12:30-1:00am. My 2 friends and I slept in one bed while my friends mom and sister, who had also come with us, stayed in the other bed, so the three of us didin't really sleep that night. About 3:30 in the morning I hear my two friends talking. "Did you see that," cmae from one friend and the other responded ,"You saw that, too". Then the next thing I know I'm bbeing hit with them yelling at me to turn the light on. Well they had me freaked out and so I wasn't going to crawl out from that bed to reach the light by the bed so I turned the t.v. on(which is difficult to do while being slapped in the arm). We woke the whole room up and made her sister and mother mad in the process, they both assumed we were being stupid. When we asked them what was going on they both said they saw a light flash in the corner between the dresser and the wall, at the foot of our bed. Then heard a camera wind. It was a freaky experience and the rest of the night we laid there awake listening to strange noises, and what we swore was my battery operated toothbrush turning itself on and off in the bathroom.

My husband and I always stay in your hotel. We once stayed in room 223. That night, we became fascinated with a loud banging noise coming from what we now know to be the annex. We ignored it for a little while and then decided it was time to investigate. We opened our door and walked out into the hallway. We turned the corner and looked down the other side of the hall and realized that the noise was coming from a spooky, dark entrance. As we walked down the couple of steps into the annex, the banging got louder. We paused for a moment and I remember whipsering to Scott (my husband) Who or What would be making all of that noise at this hour in the dark.We walked further down the hall.It was difficult to see so we kind of felt our way around. All we could feel were doors with padlocks on them. Then the banging stopped then we heard footsteps stomping towards us, we ran as fast as we could back up the hall I was literally screaming my head off because the stomping was right behind me.We ran in our room and quickly shut the door.We were attracted to the idea of what had happened. We have strange balls of light flying around us on our video camera footage. We love to have people over and show them. One year we stayed in the governors suite(which as you know has 2 rooms,a parlor and and little hallway entrance). Our friends slept in the blue room and we chose the pink room.We awoke to our door opening and closing.Thinking that our friends were trying to pull a stunt. We quickly got out of bed, tippie toed over to the other door that leads into the parlor so that we could catch them in the entrance messing with our other door. We jumped into the entrance and yelled "got ya!" We instantly turned pale and looked at each other as our door continued to slowly open all by itself. We grabbed our video camera to film and it stopped. We thought great! No one is going to believe us!But, when we turned the video camera on and filmed the entrance we got excited again. The lights in the entrance were flickering and fluttering! You could not see this with your own eyes you could only see the lights flutter through the camera lens!Almost as if it were electrical impulses.

I would like to start off by saying that I have stayed at your hotel more times than I can recall. It has been a long-standing tradition of my mothers side of the family to go down there twice a year (once in the spring and another in the fall) and stay the weekend. I, however, due to family complications have been unable to go for the past few years... and I miss it dearly. My grandmother, Betty Schrik has been going down there for many, many, many years longer than I have (she happens to be 86, and still going strong) I have many memories from my childhood there, and around the town. I remember Boyd the doorman (is he still around?)... I remember Morris the beloved cat from when he was alive and much younger. I experienced the ghosts of the hotel long before you guys came up with the ghost tour, which I have been on. I just wanted to reiterate how wonderful your hotel is, and thank you for the many great memories my family and I have shared there. By the way my friends and I are planning on comming down there and staying the 9-11 of April, 04.

My Daughter and I stayed a couple of nights at the Crescent Hotel, November 6th & 7th 2003. We had heard the rumors of ghosts but we were unaware of any details. We did not have any spooky experiences while staying at the hotel, at least that we knew of. I had brought my camera and took a couple of shots of our room, and a few more around town. Our room # 313, had a door to the balcony and I wanted to have the doorway in the picture so the curtains were open. A couple of days after we got home I printed the pictures off our computer and got a surprise. Peering through the middle pane of glass on the door was a ghostly image. You can very clearly see the eyes and mouth of the specter. We did not stay in the Hotel looking for ghosts, we just wanted to experience a little of the history. I think we got more than we bargained for.

I came to the Cresent on a field trip with my class. First time, my friend and I sensed so much going on that we keeped getting vibes the whole time. We kepted hearing laughter and seeing this one child. When we went out on the balcony, we had head rushes like someone falling. When the lady from the Chamber of Commerce said that a man died from falling while the building was being build. We kepted just getting these vibes. We asked the lady about clairovoint {sp?} people that can sense ghosts or can i say spirts, and actually see them. We saw and heard so many that it was amazing. I want to go back and stay there.

My daughter and I just stayed at the hotel last weekend. We took the ghost tour, took pictures, and went back to our room around 10:30pm. My daughter doesn't believe in ghosts but was having a hard time sleeping...she kept telling me there was something in the room that was keeping her awake. I was having a hard time getting to sleep myself. I left the tv on so it would block out some of the noise in the hallway. I set my cell-phone alarm clock to wake us up the next morning at 8am...also the time on the cell phone was set correctly. When I finally did doze off that night the cell-phone alarm went off, and I woke my daughter and told her to get up. She looked at her clock and told me it was only 4:47am and not 8:00am. So I checked my cell phone and the time was 4:47am...then I checked the alarm setting, and it was set for 8:00am...so why did my cell-phone alarm go off at 4:47am. Oh well...neither of could go back to sleep after that. I guess something or someone didn't want us to sleep, but we did have an interesting visit.

I took my mother, sister and neice for 2 nights stay in June-03. We had all day pampering in The New Moon Spa. My sister was being torment by some ghost or something that was scaring the life out of her. She would not finish her hydrotherpy bath because of the eerie feeling she was getting in the dark,candle-lit room. We all went to the dinning room to eat breakfast and as we were leaving, the latch in the floor that was holding the door open came up, then the door slammed hard, right in her face. She shared a room with my cousin and woke up having the most horrible nightmares, then she said someone got into bed with her. She thought it was my neice and then soon realized it wasn't! She ran over to my neice's bed and crawled into bed with her.
Then, I was out walking around the grounds just at sun rise, taking pictures. I was down at the bottom of the castle, on the road right in front of the interance to the catholic church. I was taking some great pictures and took one of the back of the castle there. When I got my film developed there was a flash of light in the third floor suite window. The room right across the hall from where my mother and I were staying!

I took my daughter to the Crescent for her 17th birthday. She had requested this journey for a present and also taking along three other teenagers to make it more interesting. They had fun exploring the hotel and stayed up quit late. The found some adult males trying to scare some guests and decided to turn the tables on them. So they ended up scaring these young men. Which later they got a big laugh. I would suggest that this is a great place to visit and explore. Next time we will join the ghost tour.

My husband & I just got back from a strange week at the Crescent. Always wanted to stay there, as I'm a bit of a ghost hound, and the place always oozed essence. Have 7 quite interesting photos, saw 1 actual ghost (in the company of 3 other strangers, who all saw her at the same time ~ on the 3rd floor landing going from a bench up to the next landing). Took the Ghost Tour ~ Carroll is Wonderful, and I need to contact him or get a message to him. Would gladly stay there again, although don't know about my poor husband! After a fitful night of strange noises & small events out on the balcony (outside room 214), my husband's back went out completely while taking a shower & we had to call for an ambulance. Livid pain ~ just plain odd...But the bellman, Paul, and desk clerk, Chuck, and concierge, Jackie, were all tremendous. Superb service...

We arrived at the Crescent Sat. afternoon, August 30. The Bellman, Boyd, and the front desk clerk were extremely pleasant and helpful, although poor Boyd seemed to be terribly overworked. It was a rainy day and we decided to take the ghost tour that evening. Myself and some other family members had taken the same tour in July. My adult daughters were along this time and we all decided to go together, and this time after the tour we were actually going to stay in this marvelous old hotel. We were in room 326, small but nice. My oldest daughter didn't really believe in all of the "ghost" talk, but wanted to join in. Overnight, at around 2:15am, she awakened screaming, grabbed my sister, who was sharing the bed with her, and then began to scream. She still does not know what made her scream but didn't feel like it was a dream. She and my sister were terrified and could not go back to sleep until 6:00am. The others in our room tried to sleep with the lights on....difficult. The next morning my sister and my mom decided to find another hotel to stay in, but myself and my two daughters decided to stay on. The only other weird thing that happened during our stay was that Sunday morning when my mother took her bath, sand appeared in her folded open cosmetic bag, and on Monday morning we were awakened by the third floor fire alarm and were told to all go down to the lobby so the fire dept. could check it out. They finally said that a fire alarm had been pulled....kind of strange since all of the ones that I saw in the hotel were encased in glass and the glass would have to broken to pull it?? Oh well, I can't wait for another return to the hotel, it is wonderful and a great hisory lesson.

After our ghost tour in July, five of us decided to go back and actually spend the night in the Crescent and see if we could locate the doll in my daughter-in-law's video made in July. We spent the labor day weekend in room 326(or part of us stayed the entire weekend). We spent a nice afternoon that Saturday, was assured there was not a doll that moved up and down like we got on video. We took the ghost tour, took more pictures with digital cameras. This time in the window at the very top of the gift shop is a little girl peeking out. We wandered around until about 11:30 snapping pictures. Then we all five went back to room 326 and went to bed. About 2:00 we were awaken by blood curdling screams. It was my granddaughter and daughter who were sharing one of the beds. I jumped out of bed, ran to their bed and tried to calm them down. Both thought they had felt something, but neither knew what. They were terrified and could not sleep the rest of the night. The next morning we all got up and started to take our baths. When I took my bath, I spread out my folding cosmetic carrier on the commode. When I got out of the tub, there was wet sand scattered over it. All of the cosmetics in the case were liquid. It was damp like beach sand. I used the bathroom and as I started to leave the commode lid slammed. I just said Thank You and kept going.

The only three strange things that happened during our Labor Day weekend stay was that when we got off the elevator on the third floor, my husband and son heard a woman's voice say "hello". The fire alarm went off and no one knew the cause. Finally, when the bellman took us to our room, the radio was playing when we walked in.

We just came back from staying a night in Room 210. It was a nice room and seemed completely uneventful even after my husband and I took the Ghost Tour. As I do every night, I handed my glasses to my husband folded up for him to place on the nightstand. The next morning we awoke to get ready for breakfast in the ballroom. I could not find my glasses anywhere. We searched high and low. I finally found them unfolded on the floor behind the toilet under a towel. Now, that wasn't a figment of my imagination. It had been physically removed from the nightstand and placed in the bathroom with the stems opened up. It was obviously a token of proof for me who came to the Crescent in search of connecting with the other realm. We will be returning in October. What a perfect time of the year to be in Eureka Springs at the Crescent hotel!

Two years ago (2000) at Spring Break, my husband and three daughters visited Eureka Springs. We stayed at a hotel downtown, took a spa treatment at another. The last afternoon we were there, we visited the Catholic church, St. Elizabeth's, whose back looks up at the back of the Cresent Hotel. It was late afternoon on an overcast day. As we headed back to the car, I looked up at the Cresent and saw what looked like a nun in a white wimple and habit at one of the windows. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me since it's very rare to see nuns in the old style of dress any more and that it must have been a maid shaking out a white sheet, so I looked harder. A woman wearing a white headress was peering out of a third floor window. On the way home, I found out my husband and oldest daughter saw the same thing. We'd heard the Cresent is haunted and wondered if we'd seen a ghost. It was just an andecdotal tale till a couple of months ago when my husband read that the Cresent was a hospital at one time and one of its reported ghosts is a nurse! Something clicked and I looked up a website with nursing uniforms of the past. Sure enough, the long, white headresses and white uniform worn by turn of the century nurses easily could be mistaken for that of a nun's. A skeptical friend remarked that the Hotel probably pays people to walk around in costumes, capitalizing on its reputation. Maybe, but would that kind of "service" extend to people who weren't guests or even on the property? Another asked how many drinks we'd had and the answer to that is "none".
Last week we made a day trip to Eureka Springs while on vacation and walked through the Cresent. I can't ever stay there-- the vibe is just too strong, but when we go back this fall, we're taking the ghost tour and I'm spending some time in the spa-- it sounds to good to miss!

In October of 2002, we spent a little mini vacation w/ our 5 kids in Eureka Springs. Although we didn't get to experience staying at the Cresent, we did visit briefly. From the time we drove up and entered the hotel, I felt as if something was watching us. It was more of a calming experience than a horrorifing one. We went through the gift shop buying a couple of things then my littlest one (4 at that time) needed to use the restroom. We were directed to the restroom and we proceeded inside. Just she and I were I were in the room. It became very very cold. My daughter complained about the cold so told her to hurry up so we could leave the restroom. As we were leaving, we walked facing the door that would lead us to the hallway, I felt something surrounding me. I can't explain the feeling that I felt, but I picked up my daughter and started walking a lot faster. After we left he restroom, all of us walked out to the large porch on the back of the hotel. My husband and I became so aware of something watching us that we decided to leave. It was an eerie feeling, but know that I am divorced, I plan to go back w/ my oldest daughter and actually stay in the hotel soon. I didn't realize that this place was actually haunted until a couple of wks ago when I watched a special on haunted places on the Travel Channel. Can't wait to go back and actually spend time there ghost hunting!!

My family and I took the guest tour on July 3rd. Several things happened while on this tour. They give you a colored dot to wear on your clothing, I guess to identify you as being with the tour, the dots were green and when the tour was over my sister-in-laws dot was orange. Also, the gift shop was closed and dark at the time of the tour. Something caught my sister-in-laws attention so she went back up to the gift shop and looked at what she thought was a doll. All she could see of the doll was from the nose up. She realized it wasn't a doll when it moved and she could see the entire face. Then it started frowning and smiling at her. We also got a picture in the basement that has two ghostly figures, a man and a woman.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Crescent about a year ago and had an interesting experience. I had been to the Hotel 2 or 3 times before, but it was her first time. I fell in love with the nostalgic and eerie atmosphere of the Hotel the first time I was there, but I had yet to experience anything "ghostly." This night, however, was a little different. I forget the number of the room that we were in, but it was right in the middle of the second floor and it led directly out onto the balcony in the back of the Hotel. Anyway, I kept waking up during the night thinking that I heard people in the hallway and several times I thought it sounded like someone was trying to open our door. In that half-awake/half-asleep state that you are in when you wake up in the middle of the night, it seemed perfectly logical that people would be out in the hallway at that time of the night. I just assumed that it was the housekeeping staff. It wasn't until the next day that I began to think about how strange that really was, and how unlikely it was that anyone from the cleaning staff would be trying to open our door in the middle of the night. I did not say anything to my girlfriend about it until later the next day and, when I finally did, her eyes lit up like a cartoon character's. Apparently, she had heard the same noises, but had just convinced herself that it was a dream. . . It certainly is something to consider and, if it was a prank, the pranksters were quite dedicated and did not get much sleep that night.

My daughter and I spent a night in the
Crescent. We stayed on the 3rd floor. On the way up the stairs we ran into a cold eeriness. While in our room it seemed there where people running up and down the halls all night, but no one was there. After I went to sleep I was awoke by a paralizing feeling. I couldn't move. I couldn't scream. But I could smell smoke. The awful smell as if something had been burnt and then put out. I wanted to shake it off as a nightmare, however as soon as I started to drift off asleep, it happened again. There was something in that room with me. It was moving things around on the dresser next to where my daughter slept. I couldn't go back to sleep. The next day I discover that the hotel had a fire many years ago. However, it did not burn on the 3rd floor. I can't explain that smell. I'm going back for the ghost tours. Every time I'm in Eureka I visit this hotel. It's an awe inspiring place.

Hello, I stayed at the Crescent about 2 yrs ago. It was awsome. I was 18 at the time but it was still beautiful! The people were friendly and the :) Spirits were quite likeable. I am now 20 and engaged to be married. I am hoping to take my soon to be husband and his 2 kids there. I think all need to experince the Crescent atleast once. It will be in your mind and heart forever.

I stayed at the Crescent for two nights during my honeymoon in 1989. The place was so haunted, I got so scared, we had to leave after only two nights. One night, we were walking the gardens behind the hotel so that my husband could smoke. I looked up toward the Crystal Dining Room and saw a man in a trench coat and hat watching us. My husband saw him, too. When we went back into the hotel, we looked into the Crystal Dining Room and all was dark and quiet. No one was anywhere about. As a matter of fact, whenever we wandered around the hotel after dark, we never, ever came across a living soul. Not even at the front desk. I would hear people walking the halls all the time, but every time I looked--nothing. It was creepy. Just plain weird. This was at a time when the Hotel didn't admit or advertise being haunted - it wasn't politically correct back then, I guess. A merchant in town told me about the haunting, in a hushed and secretive tone, but I'd already found out first hand. This merchant said the hotel was haunted by Dr. Baker and some of his victims...er..."patients". If any hotel staff could look up this room number, the reservation would have been on or about June 20, 1989 under Dena/Hasan Morawegi. I'd love to stay in that room again.

My husband and I were married at The Crescent in March of 2002. We had a gorgeous wedding surrounded by friends and family. I fell in love with The Crescent the first time I visited and knew that I wanted to be married there. We had a few mishaps during the wedding... My maid of honor lost the groom's ring (it was recovered). The wedding was outside and it was FREEZING!!(It was 67 degrees the next day!)Even with all that, it was wonderful. We plan to visit The Crescent at least once a year from now on. It is a truly amazing place. I would recommend that anyone stay there. Once is all it takes and you will be hooked!

My family and I have gone to the Crescent for Thanksgiving 3 years now! I love the kind staff and spacious rooms! I am going to admitt that my brother and I went snooping around in the basement one night. We went down a hall that lead to the morgue. We peeked through the door (which was locked)there was a light on and suddenly the sink turned on by itself! A door opened and paper flew out of the room and we ran. It was scary and yet so worth!! I love the Crescent and look forward to going there tomorrow!!!

The only time I have spent the night at the Crescent was in '91 or ' 92. My mom and I were in Eureka Springs for a UFO conference. My whole life I had heard stories of the Crescent Hotel. My mom visited there as a child with her family. It is a favorite place for my mom and uncle. They would sneak away from my grandparents and snoop around the hotel. So, I've heard all the history, and heard about all the ghosts first hand. I am interested in ghosts, but have never met one. I wanted to see one (at a distance) but did not. I know they are really at the Crescent. I did not sleep well there and did not let my mom out of my sight. I slept with my shoes on in case I had to leave quickly! Before I went to bed I followed the bellman (Hi, Uncle Boyd!) from a distance when he delivered extra pillows to Room 218 hopeing to see a ghost or the signs of a ghost, but I didn't. The Crescent is a beautiful hotel that really takes you back in time.

Like the old hotels like Crescent...so much history and this one has a great location above the surroundings. Didn't have the chance to stay there yet, but I certainly hope to one of these summers.

The Crescent Hotel is truly my favorite "home" away from home. It's hard to place in words the feeling you have when you are there. I live in CA now, so I no longer get to take annual trips to Eureka but will be there this fall and staying at the Crescent. One question....at one point didn't your website include a tribute to Morris? I think that would be a great addition to the updated site, maybe even info on the new kitty!
Anyone thinking of staying in Eureka.....The Crescent is the only hotel you should consider to enjoy the full experience of such a wonderful town!

After much thought I have decided to tell my story about a night in the
Crescent. My wife and I were married the day before in Eureka Springs and Had
plans to stay at the Crescent in room 218 {which I reserved 3 months earlier}
We arrived late in the day after a long day of canoeing. My new bride was
exhausted and quickly went to sleep not worried about the so called "Ghost."
So as I was waiting for a Kansas City Chiefs preseason game to begin I was
left to find the ghost myself. I tried everything that you weren't supposed
to do like changing the furniture around and slightly moving a picture on the
wall and even asking the ghost to appear to no avail. Finally I gave up and
decided to wait for the game to start and forget about all the nonsense. Then
I heard voices outside of the door and as I looked out the peep hole I saw
that there were people who would stop in front of the door and talk about the
famous room 218. That's when I decided I would have a little fun. Still
looking through the peep hole everytime someone would come close to the door
I would turn the knob a little or tap on the door with my new wedding ring.
This was great I was having a fun time scaring people. Then as I was waiting
for more victims I was tapping my ring on the door then paused to see how
long till the Chiefs game began but when I stopped tapping the tapping was
still there. Thinking I was now the joke of someone on the outside I opened
the door quickly but no one was around. I then decided I had came in touch
with the ghost and he was also a jokester. For the rest of the night I
behaved myself

Every trip I have ever made to Eureka Springs I have always loved to visit the Crescent even if I couldn't stay there. LAst Friday my new husband and I went on the ghost tour and loved learning the history of the hotel. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners. What wonderful people. Thank you for keeping this beautiful place alive and the rich history available to all.

My son and I stayed at the Crescent Hotel this past Friday, August 16, 2002. The rooms were definitely dated back to the 1800's except for the modern bathroom and tv. We both enjoyed our stay. The food in the dining room is excellent. Our waitress, Margo, was just the best. The ghost tour was just out of this world. Thanks for a very interesting evening.

I have spent several visits at the Crescent prior to the current restoration effort; And, I do plan to return when my family's health improves.
My question is why have you left Richard C. Kerens our of the history? Given the amount of money he gave Powell to build the hotel-and forming the RR syndicate to bring visitors PLUS the building of St. Elizabeth's - where he last saw his mother prior to becoming Ambassador to Austria-Hungary (the last one before WWI)... Jackie Waller --who the last I heard worked I belkieve at Harts-- has a complete history of the hotel and St. Elizabeth's that supercedes in quality anything I have read on your web site. You might give her a call... She is an expert on both the hotel and the church.
Just a thought. Also, I have submitted The Crescent to A and E to do a documentary on the history of the entire development of Eureka Springs... It certainly is a wonderful place.. and I congratulate the new owners on the remodeling.. it looks marvelous!
