The ‘Most Haunted Hotel in America‘ Was Once a Crooked Cancer “The 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, is said to be one of the most haunted hotels in America. Over the years, many guests have reported ghost sightings and other paranormal activity, a fact that was known to Marty and Elise Roenigk when they bought the hotel in 1997. As a result, the Roenigks hired two certified mediums to do a reading of the building. The mediums found that the hotel showed signs of being a portal “to the other side,” as in a “dimension that holds the spirits of the dead” and can be accessed by those “on the same frequency” as ghosts.
“Does this haunted hotel have a portal to the other side? But just why is a supposed portal to the other side located inside a hotel?
“According to legend, in 1937, radio personality and inventor Norman G. Baker bought the building and housed a hospital. There, he treated cancer patients despite lacking any training and, as a result, many allegedly people died. The apparent “portal” in the Crescent Hotel is located on top of what used to be the morgue of that hospital.
“Since then, many guests have booked a stay at the haunted hotel and have experienced many classic signs that a place is haunted. People have reported seeing the ghosts of Baker’s patients as well as that of Morris, a beloved cat that used to live in the hotel and is buried behind it. Because of these sightings, as well as the findings of the mediums hired by the Roenigks, the Crescent Hotel hosts ghost tours every night for guests who want to brave staying overnight in one of the country’s haunted hotels.” (end of MSN release)
And this Halloween night, attendees to a seance might be able to communicate with those on that other side. For on the heels of last year’s amazing and hair-raising séance, internationally-recognized illusionist and medium, Sean-Paul and Juliana Fay, return to the Crystal Ballroom of the 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa located here in an effort to connect with the ghostly spirits that visit the rooms and roam the hallways of “America’s Most Haunted Hotel”.Sean-Paul and Juliana Fay will lay out the personalities that are believed to reside in the haunted hotel and will begin the séance with paranormal experiments involving members of the audience. This year’s séance will utilize many of the medical specimen jars extricated from Norman Baker’s “bottle grave” uncovered during a formal archeological dig on the hotel property earlier this year. Baker owned and operated the hotel as a cancer curing hospital in the late 1930s. Some of the glass containers clearly show fleshy remains.
The night will crescendo with the entire audience taking out their pendulums and/or their favorite ghost hunting apps as the couple engages the haunting spirits of this Historic Hotel of America with a custom crafted spiritual encounter just for the night. One goal is to connect with those whose flesh has been sealed in some of the recovered bottles.
Regarding last year’s Crescent Hotel Halloween séance, Sean-Paul said, “The results of the Crescent séance from last year were beyond what we were expecting, and we are excited to see what will happen this year!”
