The 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa is a proud member of Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. It has been part of that program since 2000. Member hotels must meet strict criteria for age, historic significance, and architectural integrity, and are recognized for preserving their heritage while continuing to welcome guests.

The Crescent is owned by Elise Roenigk, who purchased the property with her late husband, Marty, in 1997. Together they led an extensive restoration: rebuilding the roofline and fifth floor lost in a 1967 fire, restoring the Conservatory, and updating interiors with period-appropriate details. All of the hotel’s earnings go back into the property, with Mrs. Roenigk taking no profit, so every stay directly helps preserve this historic building for future generations.

The Crescent is widely known as one of America’s most haunted hotels. It opened in 1886 as a luxury resort, later served as a college, and in the 1930s became a hospital run by Norman Baker. Deaths during that era, along with earlier tragedies like a worker’s fall during construction, contribute to its reputation. The Crescent offers several dining options, all open to the public. The Crystal Dining Room serves breakfast daily and hosts seasonal dining events. SkyBar Gourmet Pizza serves pizzas, salads, and drinks on the balcony with Ozark views. The Governor’s Bar offers cocktails and small plates in the late afternoon and evening. Top of the Crest has casual bites, desserts, and TVs in an open-air setting. At the Frisco Sporting Club, the Frisco Cantina Food Truck serves food and drinks alongside yard games, live music, and outdoor activities.

Yes, you can dine in at the Governor’s Bar. Typical hours are 4 to 8 pm daily, with a small plates menu and cocktails. Service may close for private events, so check the Governor’s Bar page for current hours.

Check-in begins at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out may be available for an additional fee, subject to availability. Cancellations require at least 48 hours’ notice before arrival; cancellations within 48 hours are charged one night’s room and tax. Yes. The Crescent welcomes dogs and cats in designated pet-friendly rooms, and a pet fee os $35 per night applies. Harmon Park’s Bark Park is about two-tenths of a mile away via the Crescent Trail. Advance notice is recommended; call 855-725-5720 to reserve a pet-friendly room.

The Crescent Hotel is about 55 miles from Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA). From the airport, drive south on Airport Boulevard and turn left on AR-264/Healing Springs Road. Turn left on AR-112, right on AR-12, then left on Highway 23 North. As you enter Eureka Springs, turn left on Highway 62 West, then take your first right past the high school onto the Historic Loop (62B). Yes. The Crescent has several trails right on site and nearby. Walk or bike the Harmon Park Loop (about 1.4 miles), or take the Crescent Trailhead out the front doors into Glenwood Hollow. Aine’s Way, an intermediate biking trail, starts behind the Crescent Cottages. A short drive away, Lake Leatherwood City Park offers more than 25 miles of hiking and biking trails with scenic views.
